How It Works

Overview

HousingMatch.org is a private online community by agency referral only. The database is accessed by case managers from agencies all over the state who help to connect people in the network. Agencies will run background checks and assess prospective members’ eligibility for the network. They help with rental agreements and crafting house rules, and they provide ongoing supports to ensure that the arrangement is a good match.

How It Works

For Tenants

Tenant Member Accounts are for tenants seeking housing or tenants renting rooms- tenant members are people who live together in the unit, including property owners who are renting a room

  1. Contact an agency to be assigned a case manager and request an appointment.
  2. Be prepared with required documents:

An agency case manager can help you with getting your documents ready and setting up your account.

  3. Once you are approved, an agency case manager can post and search ads for you. Members do not post or search ads to ensure privacy and security.
  4. Your assigned agency case manager will contact you with prospective matches.
  5. Find a list of participating agencies by clicking here.
